Patch Line Repair in Oxford & Abingdon
Here at Oxfordshire Drain Services Ltd, we offer patch line repair throughout Oxford, Abingdon and the wider Oxfordshire area. When only a small section of pipe is damaged, it is often not necessary to reline the whole drain – which is where patch line repair comes in.
This highly effective method of drain repair targets a localised area of your drainage system that has suffered damage, whether through leaking joints, collapsed pipes or fractures.
How is Patch Line Repair Achieved?
A fabric tube is infused with resin and inserted into the drain through an existing point of entry, such as a manhole. The tube is then positioned inside the sewer around an inflatable device known as a ‘packer’.
This device is inflated so that the patch is pressed against the sewer wall of the host pipe. Afterwards, the resin is left to cure before the packer is deflated and removed from the pipe, leaving the structural integrity of the drain restored.
Benefits of Patch Line Repair
The main benefit of patch line repair is that it is non-invasive and does not require the excavation of the drain. The whole process only takes a few hours, which minimises disruption to the local area. It is also more cost-effective than relining the whole drain, environmentally friendly and extremely durable.
